I am researching an Alice P. SIMMONS, supposedly born in Tywappity on 17 March 1858, but I am having a terrible time sorting out the conflicting information I have found from various sources: e.g. 3 different spellings of Tywappity, 3 states for Tywappity (Illinois, Nebraska & Missouri although only Missouri actually has/had a Tywappity; and 2 Missouri counties (Mississippi & Scott) for Tywappity. I would be most happy if someone can actually straightem this out for me.

Further complicating the matter is that the family migrated from Illinois to Nebraska and Alice is one of several siblings born in various locations en route. Alice's parents were Samuel SIMMONS and Mary Ann GREEN Simmons. Also, I would be delighted if it would be possible to learn if Alice's birth is recorded in or around Tywappity, or if I need to pursue her elsewhere. Many, many thanks!
