Fifty-four years after his death on May 28, 1905, the estate of the late Henry Dooley, pioneer, merchant, farmer and stockman of Stoutsville, was to be settled. The estate, estimated to have been worth from $150,000 to $250,000 in large acreages, personal property, business buildings and houses and other properties in Stoutsville, Monroe City and Clapper was valued at this time in 1959 at from $7,000 to $10,000. The holdings were considered of little value compared to their original worth in 1905 when Stoutsville was a thriving town with many stores and one of the best trading points in the country.
