Would someone have resource to the newspapers of Paris, Missouri about 1868 - early 1870. James A. Smith has been somewhat of a brick wall... I am searching for an obituary of James A. Smith born about 1831 to Ephraim Smith and Mary Bryan. He married Eliza Powers about 1853 or 1854, they had children: William, James H., Wiley G., and Martha M. James A. Smith in not located in the 1870 census of Monroe County, with his wife and children. He may have died 1868 - to early 1870. Looking for an obituary to confirm death date, children, where and when he died and is buried. Nothing further is known about his wife Eliza J. Powers Smith after the 1870 census, although at least two of his children, James Harrison and Wiley Greene, remained in Monroe County. Nothing further is also known of daughter Martha M., born about 1869, or son William born about 1854..

Thank You for any help leading to further information on this "lost" Smith.
