My gg-grandfather, John Carson Scott and his wife, Clarinda Jane (Michael) Scott, were born in Indiana, he possibly in Cass county, she possibly in Clinton county. They were married and then moved to Empire City, Cherokee county, Kansas and had their first child, George Warren, in about 1885. They moved on to Evansville, Washington county, Arkansas in about 1890. They had 2 children in Indian Territory in the 1890's and then moved to Newton county, Missouri in 1900. They finally settled in Clayton, Union county, New Mexico sometime between 1900 and 1916, which is when he was issued a land patent for 320 acres of land from the Clayton land office. He and Clarinda are buried in Otto Cemetery in Clayton. If you are related I would like to hear from you.
