Can anyone tell me anything about JJ Grantham who married Mary Pickett 2 Jun 1895 in Dunklin County? In May of 1896 he filed for divorce and testified that his wife Mary Pickett had left the state. There were several appearances, continuances on the divorce, and in 1898 he dropped the suit.
JJ Grantham, according to 1900 and 1910 census records, was born in Alabama. He appears to have had a son Lonie or Louie (DOB 1884), who was born in Arkansas prior to his marriage to Mary Pickett. In 1900 JJ is enumerated in Kennett and in 1910 he is enumerated in Caruthersville. He is listed as a widower in both censuses. He died and is buried in Hayti (Pemiscot County) in the "County Farm Cemetery"?
Is JJ Grantham any relative of J.T. Grantham, who married C. Ann Grantham (nee ?), and lived in Hornersville? J.T. was born in 1842 in Tennessee and had the following children with C. Ann Grantham: James Monroe, Caroline, Lydia, Isabel, Mary, and Oliver. I'm interested in knowing whether JJ is related to JT's family or anything you happen to know about JJ.
Thank you in advance,
