sorry - meant to give you my email. anyway, yes. Father was Francis Yoast (first one I have records of) b c1764. He d 6.06.1834 in Knoxville, Knox Co, TN. Mother was Barbary b c1766 and d 2.05.1834 also Knoxville. Francis'
will is on file in Knox Co, listing his children's names.
I can attach a copy to you if you wish, also a listing of
children etc. email is tmyoast@yahoo.com.
I have not found a record of Francis immigrating - either before or after marriage. He lived in VA and NC before ending in TN (unless in Knoxville when that area was NC) according to children's birth on their later census.
Family lore says he was 'sick and tired' of always having rule of his 'land' changing between the two countries, including the money. So he took 16 coins of whatever country was in rule and immigrated - a coin for each child. Yet he only had 9 children according to the will.
to have an additional 7 die before reaching adulthood is rather much. whatever, interesting story and perhaps a clue to his origins. There are some who say he was b in PA, but I really doubt that. No paper trail to prove that.
