I am doing research on the Strain, Roam & Thornsberry families in the Richland area. I live in Richland, and am checking local sources. The Manes family is related to Thornsberry, which is how I started acquiring information on Manes. I have 140 Manes individuals (birth surname) listed in my FTM database, which overall has over 3,400 people.
I show the children of Samuel Jasper Manes, but not which children for which mothers or all or the children's birth/death dates, so your info will let me get that cleared up. I also had the name of his fifth wife, Ida May, but not her maiden name. Since she was born in 1895, she probably died after 1957, so her death certificate is probably not available. I track the death certificates in a MS Word file, and I do not see Ida listed.
For your reference, you ought to check the Missouri Secretary of State website,
www.sos.mo.gov. They have all of the death certificates from 1910 to 1957 available as jpeg files, that you can click and drag into a photo editor on your PC, then save it on your hard drive. I have hundreds (thousands?, big hard drives) from the many family lines that I am researching.
They will not post the death certificates until 50 years after the death, so the 1958 certificates will come online this year. Volunteers are posting the certificate photos.
I would like to exchange information with you and anyone else. I need to start talking to the locals. I just moved back to Richland last September, and am still trying to figure out who is who, and where are the people I knew in the 60's and 70's.
