Gary,

It is quite possible they may have been buried with no stone. There was little money available within the family.
I've checked probate & estate records and there were none.

Granite & marble was costly and engraving was an additional expense. So, soft stone markers would be worn smooth over the yars and any wood crosses, etc. would be long gone.
