Hi I was able to connect Janet Neel to the Akers family based on information passed on by a great great Aunt, who gave the names of Janet's children but not her husband's name, other than Akers. I was able to track the children to Missouri and confirmed their connection to Janet (e.g. in Missouri land records, John's middle name is given as Neel). Given the Neel connections to Madison Co, KY, this is a good candidate for the Aker residence in that state. Census records for 1810 Madison Co shows a Joseph Akers, at least 45 yrs old, with children whose ages and gender match his known children. So, until/unless other information contradicts this hypothesis, I think Joseph is the husband of Janet. I'm happy to provide more details on the sourcing, contact me off-line, regards, Stuart
