Thank you for the response. I do have this information but the thing I do not have is the date/place of death of Charlotte, my ancestor. Her marriage to Metode is the last document that I have been able to find that describes her life. I just recently found the citation about his residence thus my request for information.

The information I have is he was from Babenhausen Kris Alsfeld Hesse-Darmstadt, Germany. He married Katherina Schneider on Feb 12, 1837 in Hamburg, MO. Additionally, his intent of naturalization states he was a shoemaker in Germany. If you have any information on their children, it would be appreciated. I only have Henry Mades who married Margaret Peters.
Thanks!

I'm hoping to locate early land records for Portage des Sioux, St. Charles County. My interest is in the islands in the Mississippi names Styers and Iowa Islands on some maps, Section 33 and 35 of Township 48 North. I know they have changed their shape over the years, but am trying to records of the residents there in 1840's to 1870's who seem to have been missed by the census takers. Any ideas?

I am looking for informationn on Otto and Louis Alders who were both born in St Joseph Missouri in 1882 and 1884. Their parents at the time were George and Helen Mueller. Helen divorced George in 1894 and married J T Alders. The boys assumed the name of Alders. In 1904 she and Joseph T Alders divorced and she was left with the boys in Kansas City. The whereabouts of the boys gets lost after this date. It is probably complicated by the name that the boys assumed at the time of Helen's last divorce: was it Hauser( her maiden in Switzerland) or Mueller( the real name of he boys) or Alders, her second husband. Helen looks to have been born in the 1860e in Switzerland. Any information is appreciated. Thanks Austin Mueller

Hi, thanks for answering. But I finally commissioned a researcher in Germany a few years ago to look in the archives. He actually found my ancestors in the records in the parish books around Visbeck, before they came to America.

But thank you for replying.
I have no first name for my gt gt grandfather Koester, and no maiden name for his wife Sophie. She was born in Nendorf.Their daughter Wilhelmine was born in Haustedt-Nendorf. She married Diedrich Wilhelm Heinrich Harmening and they lived in Leese, Hannover on the Weser River.
Is any of this information connecting to you?
Hopefully,
Ghyll(JILL)

Hi Kathy,
I have to look into my older files to see if I have any further written information on Turner/Shampine.
I do know a verbal story about the Turner/Shampine family but I won't put it here. You can ask Lisa, as I had told her about it years ago.
Lynn
