PIONEER CITIZEN DIED FRIDAY IN FLAT RIVER --
Rolla Sebastian, a son of the late William Whitley and Elizabeth Townsend Sebastian, was born near Libertyville, Missouri, March 21, 1848, and died at 2:30 a.m. Friday, January 17, 1936, at his home in Flat River, aged 87 years, 10 months and 29 days. He was ill only three days, having suffered a stroke of paralysis on last Tuesday.
He was a charter member of the Flat River Christian Church from which services were held at two o'clock Sunday afternoon, conducted by the Rev. J. M. Bailey of Farmington. Interment was in the K. of P. Cemetery in Farmington. Mr. Sebastian was married in 1871 to Doveyann Simpson, who preceded him in death on May 15, 1894. Three children were born to this union: William Sebastian, now of Detroit; Francis Sebastian, deceased, and Marietta (Mrs. Edward) Griffin of Flat River. Besides the two children he is survived by two grandchildren.
He was married in 1906 to Mrs. Sarah Horn who died in 1916.
The deceased was a blacksmith by trade and operated a shop in Flat River until 1920. He was well known in this community and had a wide circle of friends, who will sadly miss him.
