Does anyone have info. on the people who came to Stoddard Co. MO in the 1860's from TN? The story that has been
passed down in my family is: My g-grandfather and his family were coming from TN to MO in the 1860's when their
wagon turned over killing the parents, but the two sons
(little boys) survived and were taken in by two different families in Stoddard Co., Missouri. My g-grandfather's name was Thomas Ulysses Pierce (1859-1944). He was taken
in the Amanda Stewart and family (1870 census for Duck Creek, Stoddard Co., MO). I wish I could find Thomas's parents' names. I appreciate any help. Thank you.
