The Farnham Echo of Dawson Co, Nebraska published a 50th anniversary edition on July 30, 1936:
"Fitch, Dryden and Hayden families settle in vicinty in 1885.
Mr. Fitch's father, Horace and 3 other men, George Dryden, E.B. Mayden and Thomas Stokes of Olmstead Falls, Ohio came west in April 1885....
Of the members of these families, still living some have remained in our community, while others have moved to other places and states. .... Mr. and Mrs. Hayden are both deceased, as well as Lois, later Mrs. John Martin of Farname. Claude lives at Curtis and is the county surveyor of Frontier County. Mrs. Mavis Brittan is now located at Branson, Mo., and the other sister, bessie, now Mrs. L.E. Red,omd, lives at 3516 Indiana ave., Kansas City, Mo."
Mrs. Mavis Brittan's husband, Dr. Joseph Eugene BRITTAN who died in 1924 in Decatur, Iowa was born North Dansville, Livingston Co, NY to Daniel and Charlotte BRITTAN. Daniel died 1874 in Schenectady Co, NY, his widow Charlotte was living with her son James in 1930 when she was 99 years old in Albany, NY!
Mavis (Hayden) and Dr. Brittan moved from Nebraska to Decatur, Iowa. After his death she was by the 1930 census working as a stenographer in a bank in Des Moines, Polk Co, Iowa. By 1936 according to the article in the paper quoted above she was in Branson, MO. Looking for her death date and burial record.
