Yes. John and Catherine (Elkins) Melton's children were double cousins of my great, great grandmother, Martha Virginia (Elkins) Fowler and her siblings. John was a brother of their mother Mary "Polly" (Melton) Elkins, and Catherine was a sister of their father, Thomas Elkins. Three of Virginia's children came here to Christian County, Missouri as did her first husband and his second family; Mary's brother, Jacob Melton and eight of his children plus three grandchildren through daughters who didn't come, Thomas's sister, Ann (Elkins) Brown Pendleton, and several scores of other Cannon County connections.
