Margaret L. "Marge" Rundel, 82, of Pevely, MO, formerly of Old Mines, was born Octrober 2, 1922 at Old Mines, a daughter of the late William G. and Mary G. Portell and died Friday, March 25, 2005 at Hillcrest Nursing Center, DeSoto. She was a housewife.
Survivors include five sons, Robert (wife Frances) Rundel, Old Mines; James (Elaine) Rundel, Festus; Ronald (Brenda) Rundel, Desloge, Gary Rundel, Marthasvile, MO, and Danny (Cindy) Rundel, Kansas; two daughters, Norma Beck, Marthasville, MO, and Renee Duncan, Pevely; five brothers, Thomas Portell and Carl (Catherine) Portell, Old Mines; Joe (Wanda) Portell, Florida; Ronnie (Joyce) Portell, Potosi, and Donald (Judy) Portell, Old Mines; a sister, Karen Portell, Potosi, 31 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great grandchildren; other relatives and many friends.
Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Loran B. Rundel, a daughter, Betty Williams, a brother, Bill Portell and a sister, Virginia Boyer.
Funeral services were held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 29, 2005 from Mahn Twin City Chapel, Festus, with Father Peter Blake officiating. Burial will be at a later date in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis.
Memorials were suggested to Shrine of Our Lady of Snows, Belleville, Illinois.
Mahn Funeral Home, Twin City Chapel, Festus was in charge of all arrangements.
