We have relatives with ties to Bertie County NC, my brother has traced them back to 1600's (think thats right) He even found a picture of some old home site and wrote a book that I am certain he would share with you if still has copies.
At least he is the one with the most accurate information about the Sholars. There are more than you would expect to find, however, I do know we have some distant ties to Bertie.Also you may be able to help him with some questions I am sure he has not resolved.
