MOUNT ZION - Lorene L. (Scott) Bowman 85, of Mt. Zion, passed away at 11:38 p.m., Friday, August 31, 2012, in St. Mary’s Hospital, Decatur.

A service to celebrate Lorene’s life will be at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, September 5, 2012 at Dawson & Wikoff Funeral Home, Mt. Zion with Pastor Tracy Smith officiating. Burial will be in the Mt. Zion Township Cemetery. The family will receive friends for a time of visitation from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family suggests memorials be made to the First Baptist Church, Mt. Zion or the American Heart Association. Lorene was born February 11, 1927 in Belgrade, MO the daughter of Edwin James and Esther Victoria (Belfield) Crump. She retired from ADM having worked in grain accounting. Following her retirement she worked in the office for Team Electronics. She married Darrell H. Scott in 1947. He preceded her in death in 1976. She then married Albert G. Bowman in 1979. He preceded her in death in 2001. Lorene was a member of the First Baptist Church in Mt. Zion and a member of the Rockin’ Grandmas.

Surviving is her children: Stephen Scott and his wife Beverly of Greensboro, NC, Patricia Cain and her husband Pat of Mt. Zion, and Diana Woodworth and her husband Ron of Decatur; grandchildren: Gregory Scott and his wife Suzanne of Rawlings, WY, Dan Cain of Barstow, CA, Darrin Cain of Mt. Zion, Amanda Woodworth of Mt. Zion and Valerie Waggoner and her husband Tim of Smyrna, TN; great-grandchildren: Tyler Scott, Cody Scott, Isabella Woodworth, Madilynn Woodworth, and Nathan Waggoner.

She was preceded in death by her parents, both husbands, and her two sisters: Mildred Pence and Wanda Hawkins.
