In the 1900 Census his widowed mother-in-law, Elizabeth Yount, resided in his household. Philo Beers was of Palmer, Washington County, Missouri when he married his second wife Mary Yount of Palmer, Washington County, Missouri. On January 28, 1907 their marriage license was issued. On January 29, 1907 their marriage was performed by William W. Hopkins, J.P. at Potosi, Missouri. In 1920 Marion Payne, who was aged 72, was a boarder of Philo and Mary's. I have Charles Beers married to Mary Gilliam, yet a marriage document source lists a Charles Beers of Courtois, Washington County, Missouri who was over 21 years of age who married Mary Blair of Courtois, Washington County, Missouri, who was under 18. A John Blair is listed as father of Mary Blair and he gave his consent to the marriage. On April 11, 1900 their marriage license was issued. They were married on April 11, 1900 by Rev. William W. Hopkins at Bride's Father, Washington County, Missouri. Whether this is the same Charles and Mary Beers or not is unknown to this compiler.

OBITUARY OF FRANKLIN BEERS:

"Frank Beers of Leadwood, Mo., passed away November 12, 1981 in Washington County Memorial Hospital at the age of 85 years, 2 month and 11 days. He was born September 01, 1896 at Courtois, Mo., a son of the late John and Mary Lou (Wilhite) Beers.

He was united in marriage to Fannie Gilliam on January 23, 1916 in Washington County and six children were born to this union. One infant daughter preceded him in death as did four brothers and three sisters. Mr. Beers was a retired employee of St. Joseph Lead Company of Leadwood, Mo.

Those who remain to mourn his passing are: his lovong and devoted wife: Fannie Beers of Leadwood; four daughters: Hazel Syrett of Flat River; Ruth Breakfield of Rt. 2, Potosi; Neoma Hastings of Flat River and Delores Brannam of Festus; one son Leoman Beers of St. Louis,; nieces, nephews and many other relatives and friends.

Funeral services were conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, November 14 at Britton Chapel, Potosi, with Rev. Joe Volner and Rev. Edgar Green officiating. Interment was in Palmer Cemetery under the direction of Britton Bros. (Sparks) Funeral Home of Potosi.
