Those of you who have corresponded with me on this subject are probably groaning, "Here she goes again." It is especially embarrassing because I just checked my badly outdated Web page (which I hope to update this very summer at last) and discovered that it still says that William and Isaac Binkley of Wright Co., MO, are the children of George Binkley and Nelly Earthman. I don't know how to correct this without uploading a whole new Gedcom, which is why the page is out of date. (It takes a while to upload.) This information found its way to my Web page because when I started researching everyone said that these men, and a few others, were George and Nelly's children. Since then another researcher has shown me what I consider conclusive evidence that William and Isaac were the sons of Daniel and Catherine Binkley. No one has yet shown me any evidence that they were the sons of George and Nelly. I can find only three records for George, the record of his birth and baptism in Bethania, NC, in 1781; the record of his marriage to Nelly Earthman in Davidson Co., TN, on May 16, 1807, and his listing in the Joseph Shackleford Binkley family Bible as a child of John Binkley and Johanna Jacobina Leedy which states that he married the daughter of Isaac Earthman. I have also found a reference to Nelly in her father's will. These are the only records I have ever found on George and Nelly; and, believe me, I have looked. I would be delighted to take William and Isaac from George's brother Daniel and return them to George if someone somewhere would explain to me why they think George is the correct father. And I would love to know whatever became of George and Nelly, the brother and sister-in-law of my gg grandfather.
