David's second wife was Sylvia Houston and they lived both in St. Louis and in area of nearby Illinois. David was killed in an accident in May of 1975 and is buried near the accident site in Fairview Heights, IL.
The Runyon family was living in St. Louis when David's mother died in 1960.
In 1992, David's father's obituary stated that he had 2 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.
