I am very interested in the photo you have of the Dart Building, as George Dart was my great-great uncle. I just visited Bannock and Dillon, MT two weeks ago and have some information regarding the store.
So interesting that I ran across your information. The Emerson Hill House is all that remains in what used to be the Town of Red Rock. It is in danger of being demolished. Descendents of the Renfrom family who owned the house after Emerson Hill, are trying to save the house. Do you have any pictures that might date the big house Emerson Hill built at Red Rock. We are trying to determin when it was built. Some accounts say as early as 1884, others date it about 1902. Please get back to me. Thanks Bette L Hull.
Hello All,
I'm looking for information about a brothel / bar called Metropol. Downstairs was a bar operated by a guy named Sweed with a brothel located upstairs. (about 10 girls). My friend had spent their childhood in this establishment what they call "Metropol" between 1939 and 1945. From what I heard the Metropol was torn down about 1950. Does anyone have/know information, pictures, street locations or anything about the Metropol.

I have details about the operation with names and descriptions of the girls but lack pictures and the exact location.

THANKS
Sincerely,
joe
pool.trickshots at comcast dot net

We just got your reply today. He is willing to send what you need on the information he has. We would be most interested in what you have also. Were looking for Anthony Martinell the father of Anthony Mitchell Martinell. I am the G Shellenberg a friend of Richards who I am helping with his genealogy.
Yes and I just got hold of Richard to tell him. I thought that you had said that you were going away. So I did not hurry back with a reply. I am still trying to compile his sibbling but am lacking lots of it yet. But I have got quite a bit from his father back to Anthony Mitchell. Who I found had a brother Joseph Belgonia Martinell who they said the father was Anthony with a mother whose maided name was Green. Then I found an A Martinell in the 1851 Addington Canada County Census who was 73 years of age at that time and a shoemaker by trade. With him was a wife 47 years of age and two spinsters daughters with only the initials E who was 19 & M who was 10 years. I have not been able to find more on him to see if this is Anthony Mitchells father. I have nothing that his father was a Michael Martinelli, and that is not a name that has been passed on through the family. As for stories or pictures I know nothing as I am only a family friend of Richard and his wife Cecilla. I do know he has told me that he still has a uncle from his father side alive. Richard was so happy to hear from you and to hear about Antonio Martinelli. Can you tell us more about him? Once I get the know how I will e-mail what we have on this family. We would be happy if you would do the same.
Gail
gshellenberg@telus.net

I am looking for info on a building that I found in a letter I found from my uncle to my great great grandmother dated January 23rd, 1901. The letter head says Farley Grocery Company at the top and to the right it says

J.T. Farley President
R.H. Butler Secretary & Treasuer
Telephone 7C
Dart Building - Bancock Street

I also have a photo taken of this store about 1900 and would like any info about the store or the Farley line in Dillon

Donna T

Hello Debbie,
I am new to the Kruletz family and have been googleing the family name because my husbands grandfather is Tony Kruletz who was a stunt man in movies. He is Tony Marcus Kruletz who is the brother to your father Babe. My husbands grandfather speaks of his siblings and when I came accross your blog, I recognized all of the names. I wanted to let you know that Tony is also still alive and married to Norma, they live in Tooele Utah, they have one son, also Tony Kruletz. And as funny as it is, my husband also has the family name of Tony Kruletz. I have little knowledge of all of the family tree but if there is anything that I can assist you with, let me know. I know that your posting is from a few years ago and you may have already been able to fill in the gaps, but let me know.
Jen Lloyd-Kruletz

I would like to extend an invitation to all inquiries about Glendale, Hecla, Lion City, Melrose or Trapper City, Montana Territory History. The happenings of the past, in these vicinities, have been a passion of mine for nearly 25 years. I currently live in the abandoned townsite of Glendale and feel very fortunate to have acquired property that is among the richest, historically, in Beaverhead County. Myself, and another colleague, have a combined effort of 50 years in discovery, documenting and preserving the vast amount of events that occurred in a mere glimpse of our county and state's history. We are both descendants of pioneers of the area and currently have 8,000 names in a data base of persons who have a direct link to the area. Feel free to email either of us at GlendaleMont@aol.com or glendalemt2007@aol.com for all inquiries.
Red Rock is no longer a town but the Emerson Hill house is still there. There is a picture (two men and two women in it also) of it in our history book (Beaverhead County). It was owned by a world famous trapshooter by the name of Renfro for many years. In the Renfro history it refers to a picture of the house and the picture says it was the Emerson Hill house. The picture looks like it was taken around 1900.

Update on this: Someone found for me the death of W.G. Barkley in 1884. He is buried in Dillon. Wife Harriet may be in San Diego, California, in the 1900 census, so I will chase her in California.

Marie

I am chasing W.G. Barkley and his wife Harriet Riddlesbarger Barkley. They are in Virginia City, Madison County, in the 1870 census. In the 1880 census he is in Deadwood, Dakota Territory, and his wife Harriet is a teacher in Glendale, Beaverhead County. Does anyone have any further information on them? Death info, any family connections? Any teacher lists from Glendale?
Marie
