Obit lookup William Raymond Johnson

William Raymond Johnson was presumably killed in an auto accident 2 DEC 1936 somewhere in Montana but lived in Great Falls. He was born abt 1895/1896. His wife's name was Mildred. The story goes that 5 of his children were also killed in the same accident. I was hoping there would have been an article about the accident in the Great Falls Tribune or an obit notice. I would appreciate a lookup for this info. Thanks.

Barbara
Hi - my name is Linda and would you please e-mail me at galaxie63@bresnan.
I would like to tell you of some of the things I know about the Brown family as my grandmother and Emma Brown were friends and were in NAVY Mothers together - Emma's son Earl was in the NAVY. My mom and I were talking the other night - after I read the posting - about some interesting things about the family. I went to school with Edna Brown Podbielski' youngest daughter.
Linda

Thanks for your help Kathie! I actually have the info already from Pathfinder. What I'm looking for is this. . . There were 3 brothers--Robert Pope R Gordon, James Gordon and Charles Gordon that arrived from Scotland. Robert P R Gordon purchased a bit of land, but died earlier than his brothers. Shortly before he died, he brought his niece, one Margaret McDonald, from Scotland, to the ranch. She wrote a number of very descriptive letters regarding the ranch at that era (much earlier than what the fabulous woman from the Pathfinder has). We are hoping to find more of her letters or perhaps some photos of the Gordon Ranch from that era (turn of the century). Only James had children of the brothers. Margaret McDonald may have had children, but I have not tried to trace that yet.

Thanks again for your help! I really am just poking around hoping to find something. You never know!

Michaela Peterosn

Hi Michaela,
At one point, it appeared that James S Gordon was my ancestor. It turned out that he was not, but I had fun learning about him and his other brothers in Montana and earlier in Scotland. My James was born in Pa, but spent his youth in Red Wing MN; his father William, a tailor in 1860 was from Aberdeenshire. I have no idea if my William is connected to the Gordon Bros, sometime of Great Falls MT, but recall several being educated in Glasgow, and Aberdeen is the ancestral home of Gordon.

Of particular interest was a piece of property he owned in the swan valley.

Do you have any information?

Cheers,

Michaela Peterson
Seattle

Thanks ever so much for both of your messages. That is a lot of information. Now I know that the daughter married & her husband's name, birth & death. That is a lot more than I expected. Again, thanks.

Does anyone know how to find out if an Ada Ellen FORD or William T. FORD are listed in Great Falls directories for 1921 or 1922? Would there be any other way to find out if they were living there during this 2 year period?
