Arthur C. Jacobson
SPOKANE - Arthur C. Jacobson was born in Soochow, China, on Jan. 26, 1927, the third and
last child of Arthur C. Sr. and Gladys Jacobson, Methodist missionaries. The family returned to
the states that same year and settled in Missoula, where he attended grade school, high school
and college. He served in the military in 1945 and 1946, and finished his schooling upon
returning to the states from occupation duty in Japan.
Shortly after his return, he met Violet I. Rogers and it was love at first sight. They married July
13, 1947.
