Jessie L. Komarek, 69, died Sunday afternoon, June 14, 1998 at Valle Vista Manor.
She was born April 8, 1929, at Winnett, the daughter of Riley and Leona Fay Brown. She received her education at the
Pleasant Plains School and attended Gilt Edge and Fergus High School.
She lived her early life at Gilt Edge and on March 31, 1947, she was united in marriage to Joseph D (Speed) Komarek. After
her marriage she lived north of Roy until a short time ago, when due to ill health she entered Valle Vista Manor where she spent
the last 29 days of her life.
Jessie was very active in her community and the Roy area. She was a Den Mother for Cub Scouts, a charter member of the
Valley View Extension Club, the Young Wives Club, the Gumbo Lillies Garden Club, was treasurer of the CowBelles,
concessions of the Roy Rodeo Club, and was secreatary-treasurer of the Roy Historical Society.
She is survived by her husband of Roy; two daughters, Rita M. Lovejoy of Renton, WA, and Jo Komarek of Great Falls, MT;
three brothers, John Brown of Harlowton, Charles, (Deck) Brown and James Brown of Lewistown; two sisters Dorothy
Matovich of Grass Range, MT, and Alice Dunn of Richland City, WI; five grandchildren and three great grandchildren and
several nieces and nephews.
She was preceeded in death by her parents, a son Dean, in 1989; two sisters, Helen Brown and Fern Bishop; two brothers
Theodore and Donald Brown and a niece Jolleen Bishop.
Funeral services were held on Thursday, June 18, 1998 at the Fergus Center for the Peforming Arts, with internment in the
Central Montana Memorial Gardens, next to her son.
