Interested in whether anyone has volumes 2 and/or 3 willing to do lookups or maybe want to sell? Just provide a name and I'll see what's there. The book mainly concentrates on Noxon, Heron, Trout Creek, Bull River & Smeads, but touches on many other local communities also.

This is an up-date on the Sanders county history book. The Thompson Falls portion has been called to a halt. Over 1200 pages, 3 volumns now for sale. Working on the remaining towns of the county - still asking for help with family histories and information pertaining to living in the county.

Looking for information on any of the Boyers who ran "Boyer House" in Plains in 1800's. My great-great uncle Joseph was married to Mary Lynch, who was one of the best historical recorders of Plains life. Joseph's brother Frank, and their sister Mary, are hard to find info on. Mary Boyer married John Nelson, who died early 1900's, then married Walter Scott. Am trying to find out who the parents of Joseph, Frank and Mary Boyer were, and where they came from. Have differing stories. If anyone can help, I would greatly appreciate it.

I was pleased to come across a distant relative of mine, Martin Banes Shuler, living in Hot Springs, Montana, in 1930. I thought he had perished before 1920 in Tulsa Co., Oklahoma. M.B. Shuler was a blacksmith (owned his own shop) and was a widower, she died many years before. His sons, Evan & Everett (twins), were back in Oklahoma - I'm fairly certain. Does anyone have historical information that might have mention of MB Shuler? i.e. directory, newspaper clippings? I have not found him in the Montana Death Index, though he was listed as being 80 years old in 1930 - he was more like 75-76. Thanks!

Looking for info on Davis Family

I am looking for information about my biological Grandfather, Delbert Derwin Davis. He was born in Thompson Falls, MT, in Sanders County, on August 11 1918 or 1919. His parents were Earl Davis and Alice (nee) Jamison. Delbert Derwin Davis, my Grandfather, married Frances Elizabeth Harlick November 1st, 1943, in Hot Springs, where they were both residing at the time. My mother, Doreen Ann Davis, was born to them on October 1st, 1944, in Missoula. Godmother was Otililax Loeken, Godfather was Tom Holland. My mother was christened December 24, 1944, by Rev. William Curran in Hot Springs.
If anyone remembers the Hot Springs Cafe, my family used to own that. It was run by my great-Grandmother.

Anyway, if anyone can find any information about my Grandfather, I would really appreciate it. My family told my mother hardly anything about him, and was never allowed to find him.

Stephanie Jones-Eakins

Was there a city or county directory for Noxon, Montana or Sanders County published in 1945-1946? I am looking for any information on Francis J. Weins [1892, Wisconsin-1946, Missoula, Montana]? He may be listed as 'Frank Weins'. His death certificate said he lived in Noxon for about one year before his death in Missoula where he had previously, lived since at least 1937.
He was a retired chiropractor and business man. His second wife's name was Ella [maiden name unknown] but he may have been divorced. Ella was listed in his newspaper obituary as his widow but his death certificate said he was divorced. Any information on an Ella Weins would be appreciated. Information on the death certificate was give by a cousin, Helon Weins. Her first name was spelled Helon on the certificate but that may be wrong as her name was spelled Helen on other documents and newspaper articles. His obituary did not state what other businesses in which he was involved. Any information given in the 1945-1946 Noxon city directory about Francis J. Weins, Frank Weins or Ella Weins would be appreciated.

Thank you to the individual who checked the Sanders Co. death index. Since he was not found there, I am wondering if he was taken to a medical facility outside the county for treatment and consequently died in a neighboring co? I don't know what medical facilities existed in the Noxon area at the time. Any thoughts or comments welcome.
Kathy

Raynor family in Noxon MT

I'm looking for any information on the Raynor family in Noxon MT. I know Charles Edmund Raynor b 1889 Spokane WA d 1935? Noxon MT and his wife Violet "Constance" Maxine Loyal (or Lloyd) lived in the area for a number of years. Their children were Lawrence, Charles Jr, Glenn, William, Louise, Ruth, Mary, Herbert <who was adopted out very young and name changed to William Isaacks> and Charles Jr's twin sister Charmaine, who died very young. I know none of the female children lived to adulthood, Charles <head of household> died around 1935 and Violet possibly confined to an insane asylum soon after the death of two of her daughters and then her husband. <that is when a neighbor gave Herbert up for adoption as an infant>. Charles' mother Harriet <Foland> Raynor also lived in Noxon, and possibly his father Henry Milden Raynor. Any information that can be provided to me would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Ledger) or family histories that anyone runs across. - Ann

I am looking for a Frank L. Smith, I don't have a date of birth or death for him. I have a marriage certificate from Couer d' Alene, Kootenai Co., ID to a Mabel Long on July 17, 1924. It lists him as being from Thompson Falls, Sanders Co., MT. They had a son named Rodney on April 27, 1926 in Buhl, ID. Does this sound familiar to anybody? Thanks.

This would be between 1850 and the early 1900's. There may still be some relatives in the area, possibly Radersburg. If you have any info on this family please email me at tesicb@gci.net
Thank you, Denise

Bonner County ID Look-ups Offer

I have found many instances where a Sanders County resident got married, died, buried, etc in Bonner County ID. This might be a good tip to find some of those "missing" relatives out there. A good place to start is the Western States Marriage Records Index at: http://abish.byui.edu/specialCollections/fhc/gbsearch.htm

I will be in Bonner County on Monday, March 3, 2003 and would be happy to obtain records from the Recorders Office while I am there. I would just need to be reimbursed for any fees the Recorder charges me for copies. If anyone would like me to look up records for them, please send me an email directly with as much detail as possible about the record you want. I just ask that no one send me on wild goose chases or give me a whole laundry list. If people are interested, I may consider doing this again sometime in the future.

Ed,
Just got back from a long vacation and saw your query and I got a chuckle from it. Is this book for real--
several boxes of discs; bought five rolls of census film and I don't know how many rolls of stamps, (not counting the film reader and computor). Yes, this book is for real. I have over 1,000 pages compiled so far divided into towns, mainly on settlers between 1884 - 1920. Information taken from public records, newspapers and some from relatives. But this is a good question to ask and I can refer you to the librarian in Thompson Falls and also to the Clerk and Recorder in the Court house.
For some reason my e-mail server can not access blackfoot.com. I can receive your messages but not sent them out. If you want to call 1-208-263-7916 .
Ann (Sloan) Miller

If anyone remembers the REDLINGSHAFER family -- John William REDLINGSHAFER and his wife, Emma BONDURANT had four children, Paul F., Harold, Helen, and Nellie. Paul was my grandfather. He and his wife, Eva Uldeen MASON/VEACH, had three sons, John W., Marion Dale, and Donald Greer. I would like to find the gravesites for John W. REDLINGSHAFER and EMMA BONDURANT, as well as any other of the relations that we can. We also need to find the marriage record for Paul and Eva and the birth record for Paul F. Thanks for your help.
