Harry DOWNING was born in Wendron Parish, Cornwall, England to James DOWNING and Catherine BUCKLEY DOWNING in 1864. His first son, Arthur DOWNING, was born in 1893 in New York, USA, as was the second son, Norman in 1896. The third son, Wilfred Henry, was born in Montana in 1899.

Harry DOWNING died in Butte in 1937 leaving a widow, Jane.
Arthur was now living in New Zealand; Norman was in ?; Wilfred was serving in the military at Hamilton Field near San Francisco. He married and lived in Chicago with his wife, Evelyn DUNLABEY.

According to the 1920 census, Harry was living alone in Butte. Was Jane his second wife? If so, who was his first wife?

I would appreciate any help or advice anyone can give me as to how I could track down these elusive ancestors of my husband.
