Hi,

My great-grandfather was Josef Shalon (1833 - 1920). He was married to Anna Petrovicova (1843 - 1918). Jospeh Shalon and his wife Anna came to America from Pilzen Czechoslovakia in 1871 settling near Nimburg, Butler County, Nebraska

They had 7 children: John F. (Mar 4, 1869 - Feb 12, 1949), James M. (Apr 13, 1872 - May 11, 1923), Mary (Apr 24, 1875 -Nov 20, 1941)on April 14, 1896 she married Joseph M. Policky. After Mary there was Ann K (Mar 26, 1877 - Jan 19, 1966), Joseph F (Sep 23, 1878 - Mar 10, 1954), Antonia Fronie (May 26, 1881 - Apr 6, 1969), and Agnes (Mar 1, 1883 - Dec 18, 1966).

Antonia Fronie Shalon was my grandmother. She was married to Frank Joseph Plisek on May 15, 1905. Frank was born on Dec 24, 1879 in Lipynay, Rouchovany, Moravia, Czechoslovakia, Home #5, and he died on Mar 31, 1963 in the Seward Hospital, Seward, Nebraska. They are both buried at Bee, Seward, Nebraska.

Antonia and Frank Plisek had 8 children.

I have no idea about the change of spelling of the Shalon name. Also I have nothing in my records about Albert Shalon, however I do have a Magdalena Shalon who was born in 1838 and died on Feb 6, 1923.

I hope this will help you and if you have any other info about the Shalon family please get back to me.
