The 1880 census shows the Ridlons living in Kearney County, county seat Minden. (The city of Kearney is in a different county.) Chase County is about 6 counties away from Kearney County. You might try posting in Kearney county.
I also found them in the Nebraska 1885 census, Rebt Ridland. Same county, different township. You can browse the images for Johnson/Kearney counties, and find them on image 415 of 757.
Image 429 starts the Schedule 2 data, which is an inventory of their farm production. Robert Ridland is on image 436. If you have not see this schedule, you will be surprised to be able to find out that they had 1 mule, 1 milk cow, 3 pigs, etc. 10 acres of corn producing 200 bushels.
These images are available through Ancestry, but it takes some luck to find them, as the indexes are not very complete.
