My name is Bill Schwinck and my grandfather was Ernest C. Schwinck. I am glad to see that somebody has gathered information about the Schwincks before their arrival in Nebraska. I knew that there were two Schwinck families that arrivied in Nebraska in the 1890's. One family was my grandparents and the other was what we referred to as the West Point Schwincks. They moved to Wisner in 1887. The family burial ground is the Wisner Cemetery. I do know that grandmother and grandfather separated and Ernest went to live went to West Point to live with his brother.
When I was a child I remember going to a Schwinck family reunion in Norfolk. I have a clipping from a newspaper of the event, but no date. After that I remember stopping in West Point and meeting some of the folks (Henry Schwinck, Otto Schwinck & William Schwinck). I was suprised that there were three Bill Schwincks. My fathers name was Bill Schwinck. If anybody is interested, I have some more info about the Wisner Schwincks.
