There are a few mistakes in this article. Reuben was the son of Reuben A. Burgess and Hannah Wade Burgess of Richmond, Macomb, Michigan. I believe they came from New York prior to that. Hannah's parents, Ebenezer and Hannah Wade are buried in the West Niles Cemetary in Cayuga County, NY. Reuben Sr. served in the Army at Fort Mackinac. Hannah is descended from Captain Amos Wade of the Massachusetts minutemen. Reuben is also likely descended from Patriots in Long Island, NY. I hope this helps.
