My ancestor Ephraim Hall lived in Omaha City from 1885-1903 and he was from Boston (1st Mass. Infantry civil war). His wife and 2 of 3 daughters died of scarlet fever so he headed out west to Montana(railroad) then to Idaho(silver mining) but was headed back to Boston when he was waylaid by robbers and shot in leg near Omaha. He later died in Newcastle, Wyoming in 1918. He worked for the American Waterworks company in Omaha for 12-15 years as a carpenter. Sometimes there is no good reason or we just haven't dug deep enough. Good luck.
