Peggy-

My name is Steven Bryan Townsend and I am the son of John Wesley Townsend, believed to be born in Nebraska in 1913 and orpaned at an early age. He died in November of 1968. It is my understanding that he had at least one son by the same or similar name that would be around the age of 70 +/-, the half brother I never have met. I can be reached at tarrantcountysteve@yahoo.com I have never met or known one single individual on the Townsend side. Thank you for your post.

I am related to Christan Kjellman, grandfather of Ocean Chelman (his real name was Ossian Kjellman). Christian Kjellman had a son also called Christian Kjellman, and his son Ocean (Ossian) left Gothenburg in Sweden 1853-1855 (not sure about the date). I know a lot about the Kjellman family before 1850.

My ancestor Ephraim Hall lived in Omaha City from 1885-1903 and he was from Boston (1st Mass. Infantry civil war). His wife and 2 of 3 daughters died of scarlet fever so he headed out west to Montana(railroad) then to Idaho(silver mining) but was headed back to Boston when he was waylaid by robbers and shot in leg near Omaha. He later died in Newcastle, Wyoming in 1918. He worked for the American Waterworks company in Omaha for 12-15 years as a carpenter. Sometimes there is no good reason or we just haven't dug deep enough. Good luck.
Re: Malinda Thomas First Marriage to Kimball

Malinda Jane Thomas' first husband was George Washington Kimball, born about 1849. The were married in January 1887 in Keya Paha County, Nebraska, per the records of http://keyapahamarriages.wordpress.com/n-z/ -- hopefully you can access this. Unfortunately that's all I know about George Washington Kimball.

Arley "Arthur" Kimball was married to my distant cousin Lennia Shafer Kimball (she is the daughter of Thomas I. Shafer, who is the older brother of my great-grandfather, Josephus Shafer.) They lived in Omaha. Arley worked at the Omaha Theater as a stage hand, projectionist and in other capacities. Arley was born 14 Feb 1890 in Iowa. He died 01 Jun 1967 in Omaha. After Lennia died in August of 1966, Arley asked his cousin Pearl Thomas to come and stay with him in his house and care for him. Pearl did this and was with him until he died. Pearl then stayed in the house until her own death in 1977.

Cleveland David Kimball was a policeman in Omaha, and later a detective. He was born 18 Jan 1888, and he died 25 June 1958 in Nebraska. He was married to Margaret M. McNeill (1888- Nov 1952).

Malinda Jane Thomas Kimball Burr died in December 1948 in Omaha. I have not confirmed this myself, but I believe she is buried in Forest Lawn Cemetery.

Do you know anything more about Arley Kimball that you can share with me? Or his wife Lennia Shafer Kimball? How are you related to Arley and Cleveland? Do you by chance have any photos of any of the above folks that you can share?

Death record look-up

I have a birthdate and deathdate for Ruth B. Jenkins and would appreciate a lookup if anyone has access to Douglas County death records. Ruth was b. 3 Oct 1898, Iowa, d. Nov 1986, Omaha, Douglas, Nebraska, according to SS Death Index. I would like to know if this Ruth Jenkins is the one I am looking for. She was married to Alva Earl Jenkins (nickname Val). He predeceased her by almost 30 years. I'm looking for Ruth's maiden name and any other info on the cert. Thanks! Barb
