This is a correction to my June 10, 2011, posting.
I have now located John James CARLOCK and his family on the following censuses:
1880 United States Federal Census, Internet, Huggins, Gentry Co., MO.
1900 United States Federal Census, Cooper Township, Gentry Co., MO, pg. 194B, dwelling 144, family 147, enumerated June 12, 1900.
1910 United States Federal Census, Park Precinct, Dundy Co., NE, supervisor's district ? (169 crossed out), enumeration district 49, sheet 12A, enumerated May 10, 1910, dwelling 219 (crossed out), family 221 (crossed out).
1920 United States Federal Census, Wray Precinct 17, Yuma Co., CO, supervisor's district 2, enumeration district 273, sheet 6B, enumerated Feb. 7, 1920, dwelling 284, family 285.
It appears that John James CARLOCK’s son E.D. CARLOCK was named Ephran D., not Ernest D.
I am still searching for information about Ernest CARLOCK. Curiously, his name is mentioned on the first of the following Haigler Cemetery listings, but not on the second.
Haigler Cemetery, Dundy Co., NE (http://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/ne/dundy/cemeteries/hai...
Nebraska Gravestones.org. Haigler Cemetery – Dundy County, Nebraska (http://nebraskagravestones.org/cemetery.php?cemID=239&pg...
So far I have been unable to locate any additional information about either Ernest CARLOCK or his wife Amanda GARNER CARLOCK. If anyone has an opportunity to visit this cemetery, please verify that the transcription in the first Haigler Cemetery source above is correct with regard to Ernest, Amanda, and their infant twins.
According to the following sources, it appears that E. D. CARLOCK (1900 – 1988) migrated to Amarillo, Potter Co., TX, where he died Jan. 21, 1988. It also appears that he married Dualla Louise M. (1904 – 1991).
