I believe Joseph & Charlotte Jonas to be my great great grand parents. Their daughter Mary Louisa Jonas married my great grandfather Isaac Croley, a civil war veteran. At that time the Croley and Jonas families lived near Fairland Indiana. Isaac & Mary moved to Naponee, Nebraska in late 1875 where they farmed homestead land. Charlotte relocated there sometime after that and is baried in the Naponee cemetery. I have what remains of May Louisa's photo album containing pictures of several Jonases including a picture I believe to br Charlotte and Joseph. --Don Croley

According to my grandather, Rolland Colison, his father Rudy Collison invented the Collison wrench. Rudy owned and operated a flour mill in Bruning, Nebraska. I believe he ran a mill in Ord, Nebraska before this. The patent is under Roland's name. Also, he stated that William Petersen had been friends with Rudy and then went on to invent and patent the vice-grip. I can find more information if you are interested.

I am also updating what I have found so far. My name is Brad Johnson and Elmer Chalupa was my Grandfather. I will send you an invitation to the family tree so you can see who is who and when. Looks like we are long lost relatives on the Chalupa-Johnson Side. My Grandmother was Fransic Chalupa and was previously married to Elwood Duncan which is my mom's maiden name.

We have a big tree to go over and look forward to getting information from you also.
Lillian Edgar was maiden name born abt 1892

Thanks!
Brad Johnson

Hello
The Franklin Library in Franklin, Nebraska has copies of old newspapers from Franklin County. However the last I knew they did not have a microfilm copier. That has been some time ago perhaps they have been able to get one. Perhaps you can get the newspapers through an inter library loan. You could inquire by calling this library at 308-425-3162.

Hi I saw your infro on Rootsweb and I have the informaiton that you are wanting to know. Dorothy's daughter Deb is married to a George Ferguson who resides across the state line from where I grew up near Bloomington, Nebraska. I doubt that Deb would even remember me as I was older than she. I remember her mother Dorothy she was a very nice person and ran the Grocery store for awhile when I was growing up.
Deb's husband George Ferguson's fathers name is also George so I am not sure if the address and phone number that I am providing below is Debs husband or her Father-In-Law. But no matter whomever you get in contact will be able to provide the informaiton to get in contact with Deb.
I tried e-mailing you directly however the e-mail you provided would not allow me to send you this information. I do not usually post this kind of infro but feel there is no harm as I found this information on the internet anyway.

George Ferguson
8072 A Road
Kenningson, KS
66951-5503

Phone (785) 476-2690

I wish you luck.
Please let me know if this helped or not!

Sincerely
J.
I'm looking for any information for the John J. and Martha(Jackson)Chitwood family line. Other family from those two would be James W., Mary E., Hattie, Charles and Minnie. I think they ended up in Bloomington Township around 1910. Before that they were in Logan Township. Thanks for help

Scott and Margaretha (Christofferson) Olsen of Franklin Co, NE

I am looking for siblings and parentage of Scott Olsen b.23 Dec 1881 IL (according to his WWI draft registration), and his wife, Margaret/Margaretha Christofferson/Christopherson b. c 1884 Sweden.
In 1910, Scott Olsen, his wife, and daughter are found in Ashe Grove, Franklin Co, NE I have not located either in the 1900 census. In 1918, in his WWI draft Reg. he and Maggie were living in Wilcox, Kearney Co, NE ... in 1920, he and Margaret were back in Ashe Grove, Franklin Co, NE. In 1930, he and Margaret their 5 boys, Leo, Dean, Paul, Robert, and Leroy were in Scandinavia, Franklin Co, NE. I have not yet found out who their eldest, a daughter, named Katherine, married, but have since located all the marriages and some of the families of the boys with the aid of obituaries.

The children seem to have scattered into other counties, namely Kearney, Phelps, Douglas, and Cheyenne Counties in Nebraska. (I've probably missed a few).

Can you help me find the final resting place for Scott and Margaret? and hopefully, an obit or death record? maybe some siblings?

Thanks in advance,
Gloria Kay VAndiver Inman

I am looking for information on Chris (Christian?) Olsen (b. ca 1845 Denmark) and his wife Sophia (b. ca 1861 Denmark)
They apparently married about 1881, as the 1900 census of Franklin they say they have been md 20 yrs, but in 1910, they say 29 yrs with 5 ch/and 5 living, but only 4 reported in the census records.
I could be wrong, but I suspect that Scott Olsen, (b. 23 Dec 1881 Illinois (per his draft registration)) was their first child and out of the nest in 1900. I cannot find him anywhere in 1900, but in 1910, 1920, and 1930 census records and his 1918 WWI draft registration are all in Franklin Co, NE with his wife, Margaret/Maggie (named in their children's obituaries as Margretha Christofferson/Christopherson).

I have searched and searched, but I cannot find a death record or burial site for either Scott or Margaret "Maggie" Olsen.
I strongly suspect that "Scott" was not his full name.

Does ANYONE have ANYTHING to add to this.
PlEASE HELP
GKVI

I found a reference to the Bloomington Cemetery, in Bloomington, and if you go to google maps, you will see the cemetery on the west edge of town.
Did not find a reference to transcription of the cemetery but did see on usgenweb-Franklin that Lillie has an obit card in the index.
Jean

Looking for Edward and Lillian Chalupa possibly in 1900 census

Hello i am trying to find any part of my husbands roots. I have recently found an obit that told me his grand mothers last name and the name of her first husband. Lillian (Kocian) married Edward Chalupa and their second Vern S. Chalupa and possibly their first son Elmer Chalupa were born in Hays Springs, Neb.The obit was for Vern S. Chalupa says he was born Oct.26, 1913 . His older brother born who was born Feb. 20 1912 according to the Washington State death index I have not obtained an obit for him yet.I would like to see if can find this family in any census census, and maybe locate birth records for both of the sons. Other children born to this marriage were Melvin F, Helen and Edgar. I know that by 1930 she had remarried an Edgar and had two children Dolores and Kenneth. I only know this because Dolores is my husbands mother, and he remembers a couple of his Chalupa uncles.

Nina Lilly Fisher (1878 Illinois-bur. 1904 Dillar, Franklin Co.,Nebraska) dau. of Linville Perkins Lilly & Francis Meyers.

My grandfather, Milton Fisher, married Nina C. Lilly in Falls City, Richardson County, Nebraska on 6 Jan 1896.

They had at least two children. One unknown child probably born in Franklin County, Nebraska and died before their 1900 Osage, Lincoln Co., Oklahoma Census was taken. They also had a male child was born (probably in Nebraska and possibly died in Globe, Gila County, Arizona. I need access to deaths, marriages, cemetery records in both Franklin and Richardson Counties in Nebraska.

I've tried in vain to find any information on these two children. After Nina died my grandfather posed in a photograph with a boy who I think was his and Nina's son as well as another boy????? I also have pictures of Nina and my grandfather together.

I am very anxious to find anything about these children as well as Nina's family. Nina's parents were Linville Perkins Lilly (1847 Illinois-d.aft 1900 probably in Richardson Co., Neb., son of Linville P. Lilly & Sarah Luvicy Monson) and Elizabeth Frances Meyers (1850 Illinois-1894 East Muddy, Richardson County, Nebraska, dau. of David & Nancy White Meyers).

!Only Census Nina & my grandfather are found:
6 June 1900 Osage, Lincoln Co., OK Federal Census: Has grandpa with his 1st wife Nina (age 22 b. IL) and it says they had been married 4 years and had 1 child who was died. (I couldn't find the cemetery record in Osage; therefore, the child probably died before they came to OK).
Title: 1900 Census, US
Author: Bureau of the Census
Repository:
Media: Census
Page: Lincoln County, Oklahoma, T623-1339, Pg 192, ED 125, Sh 3B, Ln 86
#54/#55 Milton FISHER b.
