I just found Elzie Barkhurst on the 1940 census living in Grand Island City. He was a widower and I understand he did not have children. On Find A Grave I found an Elvie Barkhurst buried in the Grand Island Cemetery. He died 27 November 1962. I am hoping there is an obituary for him to find more info.
