Classification: Query
Surnames: Ahlmann, Ahlman, Schultz, Smuda-Von Trebiatowski, Lange, Berndt, Bundt, Schmidtke, Neubauer, Pooch, Limberg
Our Ahlmann family has compiled data of 82 of our Ahlmann ancestors/decendants who originally emmigrated from Prussia in 1883, 1886 and 1888. Some of their home towns include: Besswitz, Schlochau, Waldau, Treblin and Trzebiatkowa, around Kr. Rummelsburg, in Pommern (now Poland with Polish names).
According to oral histoy, prior to settling in Prussia, the Ahlmanns originally came from Schleswig-Holstein, but so far we are not able to connect our data with that area. We've noticed that many Ahlmans dropped the extra 'n' here in the U.S., spelling it 'Ahlman'.
I have too many Ahlmanns to list here, but I'd be happy to share our data if you ask. Bertha was a very common first name from that area in the 1880's, and I have a great grandmother and great aunt Bertha Ahlmann. We also have data from other ancestors from Prussia (via Ahlman spouses): namely Smuda-Von Trebiatowski, Berndt, Bundt, Schmidtke, and Lange.
Our family has only one Schultz connection by marriage, on the 'other' side of the family (Neubauer/ Pooch/ Limberg/ Berndt) in that two sibling uncles married two Schultz sisters in a double wedding ceremony.
You are welcome to have the above birth, marriage and death dates, locations, witnesses, sponsors' names that we have researched from cemetaries, census and county records but mainly from the Ev. Luth. Kirchenbuch at North Morristown, MN.
