William Clasey of Battle Creek for over 40 years died Sunday evening at the home of his daughter, Mrs. Herman Werner, of Norfolk, where he had gone to stay a few weeks before. He had been suffering for some time with an incurable ailment.

Services were conducted by Pator A. H. Schleef at St. John's Luthern Church in Battle Creek on Wednesday afternoon and interment was at the Lutheran cemetery.

He was born at Champaign, Illinois on July 18, 1870, and was 65 years and 23 days at his passing. He married Miss Sophia Schreiber in 1891, and came to a farm near Battle Creek, NE the same year. After the death of Mrs. Clasey in 1896, he purchased a home in Battle Creek where he lived since.

Mr. Clasey was the father of two children, one son, who died in 1917, and the daughter, Mrs. Herman Werner of Norfolk. There are 8 grandchildren. John Clasey, a brother, resides at Page.
