I went to your wedding many years ago. That being said your mother knows well where this farm is as we have been there many times but alas it is but a corn field now. All those buildings are gone.
My son's and I have found that our grandfather (great grandfather) came to this country via a german ship named RHAETIA from Hamberg, Germany. They left on 15 July 1883 & stopped in France and then on to USA arriving in 1884. He was listed under the name of a man who it is presumed he worked for by the name of Hebda. Aunt Minnie told me once that Agy Cedar, Jacob Leo's mother was later married to a Hebda.????? Anyway there is a picture of this ship and I can not imagine what it would have been like for someone to live on it for 6 months or more, esp. being a boy of 16.My son tells me that he has found the graves of Agy (Agnes and her husband Hebda) in a Columbus, Ne cemetary.
I have also found a person by the name of Lon Cedar listed under Francis Dean Cedar in Aneheime, Ca. Do not know who this is and some where a long the way, I can not find him any more or can I find Lorilee who was Francis Dean's wife.
Do you know anything about this? I would be interested in knowing.

I just read your query otherwise I would have answered sooner. My grandmother and grandfather were Antonette (Anna) & Jacob Cedar who had a farm about two miles east of highway 14, south of Fullerton and two or three miles south. It had a large house and many buildings on the property. She lived on the farm until about 1950 or so. It is now totally gone & is a corn field. Nothing remains of this grand house.
I do not recall having a relative with the initals MMcDMue.
Who are you?
I now live in New Jersey but I have fond memories of that farm.

I am looking for information from a death record or obituary for Chauncey Wiltse. Chauncey was married to Augusta Caroline Strong and died in Fullerton on December 11, 1894. I have located a biography of him for Nebraska, and the biography states that his parents are James Wiltse and Nancy Livingston Wiltse and that he was born in 1834. I believe the parents listed are actually his grandparents. James and Nancy were married in 1795 in New York, and the birth dates I have for their children are Mary 1810 and Henry in 1817. I also find a Chauncey born in 1812 and believe this is the child of James and Nancy, and the father of Chauncey in Fullerton. Does anyone have resources that can help me clear this up?

Thank you
Leslie

Hello - I am going to be visiting the Fullerton area in April and would love to find my great-grandmother's farm. She had a farm "a few miles south of town" and I do find them in Newman in 1930. It would be helpful to have a more accurate address as I would like to get photos.
1930 Census Anna and Jake Ceder Nance Co, East Newman. Jake died in 1934, but I know she stayed on the farm at least into the 1940's. She eventually moved into town where she died in 1967.
THANK YOU!

Charity (Tucker) Edwards b 12Nov1817 in Raleigh, NC, d6Oct1903 - obit

Charity’s obituary was published in Valentine, Nebraska’s The Republican of Friday, 16 October 1903.

MRS. CHARITY TUCKER EDWARDS 85

Mrs. Charity Tucker Edwards died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. E. R. Vandegrift, in Nance county, Nebraska, October 6, 1903, at the age of 85 years, 11 months and 6 days.
She was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, November 12, 1817 and moved at the age of 18 years to Indiana with her parents. There she married to Howard B. Edwards January 6, 1840. Moved with her family to Iowa in 1864, to Kansas in 1867, to Nebraska in 1886 and to Nance county a year and six months ago. Eight children were born to her, the seven surviving are Mrs. Mattie Vandegrift, Palmer, Nebraska, Mrs. Alice Snodgrass, Mrs. Rachel Hathaway, Mrs. Mary Kidd, Councilgrove, Kansas, Mrs. Julia Ficher, Los Angeles, California, Mrs. Eph. Edwards, North Yakama, Washington, Jr. Jim Edwards, Holton, Kansas.
In 1868 she united with the Baptist church, was well versed in the scripture, a firm believer in the doctrine of salvation through Jesus Christ. She was a kind, loving wife and mother, and we mourn not as those who have no hope. From the evidence she leaves of an abiding hope in Christ we believe, though she is absent from flesh, she is present with the Lord which is far better. May the Lord comfort her aged husband in his sorrow and affliction and the other bereaved ones with that comfort that the world cannot give.
The funeral was held at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Vandegrift, and was conducted by Rev. Underwood, of Archer, Nebraska. The text was Rev. 14-13 and the songs were “Nearer my God to Thee, Death is only a Dream and Thy Will Be Done.” The remains were taken to the cemetery north west of Palmer [Merrick Co.] for burial. [submitted by] Nellie Vandergrift.
Having been a resident of this city, Deceased was well and favorably known here and the numerous friends of the family in this county unite with relatives in mourning her death.
I am searching for info on the Geneoa Indian School which my grandfather, Arthur O'Daniels B. 1880, attended, with his brothers. I need to know if there are records of this school and the children who attended there.
Also am needing info on Ft. Robinson, Ne. when it was a German POW camp. My father, Thomas O'Daniels, was a guard there during this time. My father recently passed on so would like info on this time in his life.

Hi,

My name is Linda Jayne Winters. I'm trying to get ahold of Bob (Robert) Christy, son of Ralph Henry Christy and Marvel Warden. He is my half uncle. My mother, Ruth Ada Christy, was his half sister. He came to live with us for a short time while he was in high school. We lived in Rosamond, Ca. at the time. He went to Lancanster High School then. We used to be pretty close, but the last time we talked was before I moved away from my long time home in San Jose, Ca. and I've moved three times since then so we have lost tract of each other. I would really like to get in touch with him. If you know where to reach him and would be willing to do that please e-mail me back. I can give you more info if you need it, then my phone number. I tried to reply on the tree that was posted but it said that the owner was not accepting e-mails. Too bad, because I do have a couple of small corrections for you about me.

Marriage record of Joseph BARO (BORO) & Catharina nee CZUBA

My grandparents, Stanislaus GALUS and Martha nee KUDRON (KUDROń), were both from the Village of Leki Gorne (Łęki Górne), situated between Pilzno and Tarnow in southeast Poland. Through LDS microfilmed church records, I have tracked my KUDRONs and my SZTORC / STORC lines to the Villages of Zajaczkowice (Zajączkowice), Lipiny, and Kozia Wola, all of the Pilzno Parish. In the process of extracting all records that reference the surnames of KUDRON and SZTORC, I came across the marriage record of a Jozef BARO and Catharina nee CZUBA in Zajaczkowice. Catharina's parents were Joannes (Jan) CZUBA and Marianna nee SZTORC. Jozef and Catharina immigrated to Nance County, Nebraska, in the early 1800s, and they are buried in the Ss. Peter and Paul cemetery in Krakow, Nance County.

I have a strong suspicion that Marianna SZTORC is my first cousin twice removed, but I am still working on making a solid connection to my SZTORC family.

Following is my transcription of their marriage record:

Marriage record, LDS microfilm 2006734, item 9, page 143
Village of Zajaczkowice, Parish of Pilzno, Galicia, Poland
7 November 1871
Groom: Jozef Baro, cmetho, son of Stanislaus Baro and Agatha Mozgowiec, house 20 in Leki
Catholic, age 23 (abt 1848), single
Bride: Catharina, daughter of Joannes Czuba and Marianna Sztorc, living in Zajaczkowice, house 4 in Zajaczkowice ad Leki
Catholic, age 16 (abt 1855), single
Witnesses: Petrus Sztorc, Andreas Czuba

Marge Galus Sandlier
Forget Me Not http://homepages.rootsweb.com/%7Esandlier/marge/index.htm

I can find them both listed in the 1910 and 1920 census in Genoa. Clarence is listed as a widower in 1930 again in Genoa. I am searching on information on their death dates and where they are buried. I am also attempting to discover Anna's maiden name. Thank you for your time! Any information will be appreciated.
Mack Fitzgerald descendants

I am looking for information on my great-great grandfather, Michael C. (Mack) Fitzgerald's parents. His wife was Clara, they had six daughters; Mabel (Mae) Smith Workman was my great-grandmother. Some census records say Mack was born in New York, some say Ireland. I am interested in any information that might give me a starting point in finding Mack's parents.
The other daughters were: Nellie Fitzgerald Crawford, Estella Fitzgerald Jennings, Ethel Fitzgerald Pepper, Edith Fitzgerald Minor, and Ina Fitzgerald Sidders.

Ann
Yes I knew most of what you had sent but some I did not and I want to thank you for sharing this information with me.
My information is based on an Aunt who lived with Statyia Belle Beightel and her husband Aaron LeRoy Johnson.
Thank you again.
I know as I emailed you that there has been some confusion over Nancy Alice's last name. Some say Day, Godsey, now Summer. I wonder which is real, or if possible that she had married before David?
Please let me know if you find anything out.
Becky
