Hello! My name is Diane Cary-Vosburg. My family's history is traced back to Lewiston, NE. I found on a Nebraska genealogy site that you have researched this family. The earliest name I have for this group is George Humphrey Cary who was married to Martha Frances Alcorn-Cary. They lived in Burchard, Nebraska. Their children were George, Albert, Elma and Elsie, who married William Cruse and had five children - Ruth, Harley, James, Stanley and Genevieve. George married Frances Rosa Shuey-Cary. Their children were Wilbur (my grandfather), Walter and Alta. Wilbur married my grandmother, Mattie Adelia Stewart-Cary. They lived in Lewiston, and eventually in Grant, NE. They lost their farm in the dust bowl and moved out west, first to a car camp in Idaho, and then to the Willamette Valley in Oregon. They had four children born in Nebraska - Nelma, Orval, and twins Lavern and Laverna (my dad is Lavern). They had another child out in Corvallis, OR - Frank. My dad turns 80 this year. Frank has passed, as have Mattie and Wilbur (Mattie lived to 105!) Almost all of the family is out in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and California. Except for me. I live in Anderson, IN.

We don't really have much information past what I have given you that gives more information about Wilbur's parents and grandparents. However, Mattie wrote a book of remembrance about her life that is giving me some guidance. Any other information you have, or ways to which you can point me, are greatly appreciated! Any information you might want from me I will try to supply.

I hope we can correspond.

Warmly,

Diane Cary-Vosburg
