Thanks, yes, have checked the other cemeteries (remotely, of course). Was hoping that someone might have an obituary squirreled away in an old scrapbook, maybe? Have checked US census -- he's listed in Stocking in 1880 as farmer. By 1885, his wife is listed as 'widow'; he's without a trace. Just got done reading "Biographical Sketches of Leading Citizens of Saunders & Sarpy Counties" (Biographical Publishing Co, Chicago, 1900); none of the subject families made it into print there, either. Ah well, he's not the only relative of mine that appears to have been abducted by aliens. Considering how little data i had to start with, i'm still amazed how much info i ended up with, thanks to a kind local researcher. RAOGK is real!
