MRS. JUNGCK BURIED TUES.

After a two months illness, Mrs. Chris Jungck passed away Friday, June 13, at her home southwest of Rushville.

The passing of this fine woman was a great loss to the community. She was a genuine friend to all, and an asset to her community and church. She bore her illness with composure and Christian cheerfulness.

Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, June 17 at 1:30 from the home and 2:00 o'clock from the Emmanuel lutheran Church, Rev. E. Rummel, officiating. A quartette sang, "Let Me Go" at the home and "I Know That My Redeemer Liveth" and "Jesus, Lead the Way" at the church. Burial was in Fairview cemetery. Pallbearers: Martin Wittig, George F. Miller, A. N. Gehrt, Rex Evans, Fred Sandoz, Wm. Dohrman.

Obituary

Mrs. Christian Jungck nee Anna Christine Petersen, was born on August 14, 1871 in Schleswig-Holstein Germany, the fifth child of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Petersen. Soon after her birth she was baptized in the Lutheran Church there.

In October 1882 she came to the United States with her parents, settling in Clinton County, Iowa. On April 3, 1887 she was confirmed in Emmanuel Lutheran Church of Charlotte, Iowa, by the Rev. C. R. Riedel.

With her parental family she came to Sheridan County in the year 1888. On November 10, 1895 she was united in marriage with Christian Jungck with whom she mutually shared joys and sorrows, successes and adversities. One son, The Rev. Fred Jungck, preceded her in death in the year of 1937, and whom she joined in death Friday afternoon June 13, at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 1 day.

She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, Christian, 3 sons, Herman of Hay Springs, Ludwig and Arthur of Rushville; Mrs. Walter Flueckinger of Gordon, Mrs. Herb Wellnitz of Rushville, Mrs. Samuel Herforth, Millard, Nebraska and Mrs. Woodrow McKee of Atlanta, Ga. Two brothers, Hans F. Peterson of Rushville and B. J. Petersen of Hay Springs; 3 sisters, Mrs. Amelia Hauck of University Park, Iowa; Mrs. Anna Huntington of Hay Springs, Mrs. Mary Van Zant of Oakland, Calif. and 21 grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren and many friends.
