Found an old obit in family Bible. However, part of it is missing. Maybe someone can help me with this. Obit reads:
John W. Estabrook was born Nov. 6, 1849 at Munson, Ind. He was married to Sarah Trout March 11, 1877. Together they came west in the year 1885 and settled near Gordon, Neb. being among the first people to come to that section of the tate. Later they moved with their family to the vicinity of Johnstown where they made their home until the time of writing. To this happy union were born 5 sons and 2 daughters, 2 sons of whom have preceded him to the Land of Rest. Deceased joined the Christian church at the early age of 15 years but in later life connected himself with the M.E. Church to which doctrine he was ever faithful unto the end. He passed out of this life Dec. 30, 1913 at 5:30 a.m. at the family home in Johnstown, aged 64 years, 1 month and 24 days. He was a kind father and faithful companion and held the highest respect of all who knew him. He leaves to mourn his loss, a wife, three..........
and it ends there. Do now know where Johnstown is, what newspaper or nothing. Can anyone tell me if this Johnstown in near Gordon?? Cannot find Johnstown, Neb. on the map. Any info on this family would be greatly appreciated. You may e-mail me direct or post here. Thank you
