AGED LADY DIES SATURDAY NIGHT
"GRANDMA" BOURELLE BURIED MONDAY MORN
Mathilda Bourelle, 86 years, 7 months, 14 days, of Walthill died Saturday, January 24, 1942, in the Walthill Hospital, following a long illness. She has been a resident at Walthill for 37 years.
Mathilda Couture was born in Illinois, June 10, 1855. She was united in marriage with Napoleon Bourelle in Illinois, January 12, 1875. He preceded her in death 25 years ago. Two children, Mrs. Joe Lorenger, and Jule Bourelle,Sr. also preceeded her in death.
She leaves to mourn her passing eleven children: Mrs. Charles Lucart, Mrs. George Rager, Mrs. Earl Peters, and Mrs. Clarence Riggs, all of Walthill. Mrs. Clarence Stuart, and Arthur Bourelle of Sioux City, Mrs. Thomas Rager, Winnebago, Levi Bourelle, Rosalie, Mrs. Leva Loofe, Kansas City Mo. Mrs. Eva Dalton, Omaha, Albert Bourelle, Glendale Calif. 52 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren and 2 great,great, grandchildren.
Funeral services were held in St. Joseph's church at Walthill with the Rev. D. O'Sullivan singing the requiem Mass Monday morning.
The above was taken from the Walthill Ne. paper dated Jan 29, 1942. In addition to the above the obit listed out of town guests that were at the funeral. Mathilda was the sister of my grandmother, Delphine Couture Meistrell who lived and died in Lincoln, Ne.
