I'm sorry I don't have any more about Millie. I have two books from Pender, one from the church and one just a 100 year celebration of some kind. She is mentioned as Mildred Adams in one of them and Mildred (Zellmer) Adams. I do know she didn't have any children.

Hi Darlene:

Thanks for the message. I'd be interested in what else you have. Mildred (Zellmer) was my 2nd cousin-once removed. Apparently from your message she married an Adams before she was married to Carl, and I didn't know that.

Hope to hear from you again.

Bob Anderson
Omaha, NE

Carl Wichman was my uncle. He was born Oct. 23, 1900 in Pender, Nebraska. He died in Pender on Nov 8, 1978 and is buried at St. Peter's Lutheran church cemetery. He married Mildred (Zelmer) Adams in Long Beach, California March 16, 1961. She was born Oct 6, 1912 in Atlantic, Iowa. They lived in Pender but spent the Winters in Long Beach.
I have information on his first marriage and his five children from that marriage. The name was spelled Wichmann originally but the second "m" was eventually dropped by the family.

Dorothy was buried in Tabor Iowa with her grandmother, the family moved away from Thurston County at a later date, so there would be no family left in Thurston County. Don't know if it was different than what you posted here (or if it was just a duplicate announcement).

My primary interest is in descendants and relatives of Harriet as it is she through whom I have a connection. She is my great-grandmother's half sister, but the children by the two marriages apparently never had much contact with or knowledge of each other, so I'm trying to fill in the gaps both with individual's data and family stories.
Miss Pearson had been making her home in Walthill for several months with a Mr. and Mrs. Byergo. A microfilm reel of the 1913 Walthill times is available through the Nebraska State Historical Society. I found this information while researching my Grandfather, Wm. R.
The Village Clerk in Walthill has records of Evergreen Cemetery and may know who purchased the lot. She may also be knowledgeable about gravestone suppliers in the area, and you can start calling them and hope to get lucky and find the one who supplied the stone--and they may tell you who paid for it. There is also a funeral home in Walthill and they may sell gravestones. They do not have old records. I needed a 1944 record, and that was too old. I have no idea when their records start.

Mahala Love (CLINE) ORR is buried in the south side of Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill. Moses Carson ORR's headstone is in front of Mahala's. In the picture I have, a GAR star shaped marker with "GAR 1861 1865" is next to Moses' headstone.

The "Informast" signature on Mahala's death certificate was "md Orr" (probably Moses Dallas ORR). The James Rave Cemetery (Catholic) west of Winnebago, or the Tribal cemetery at the Agency east of Winnebago? Or Evergreen in Walthill, or Omadi Cemetery south of Homer?I'm sure there are others but those are the closest to Winnebago. If you know I'll try to find out who purchased the headstone.

That is all very true. She (Geneva Orr Lammers) was my fathers (James Orr) sister. James Lammers was found guilty and was one of the last men hung in Kansas. I have a copy of that magazine.
Geneva and the kids are burried north of Hartington.
I also know that Mahala is burried up by Winnebago. I wold like to know who purchased such a nice head stone for her. It is really nice. She must have been someone special.

Only thing I can remember is that the Orr's lived east of Winnebago. A daughter Geneva and her children were murdered by her husband, who later set fire to their trailer. He was tried, don't remember the outcome. The story was in "True Detective" magazine sometime in 1956-57.
I am helping a friend of mine named Charles (Chuck) Clifford Losh with his family history. His fathers name was William Elmer Losh and another name he gave me, but he is saying it was his grandmother (not mother) was Alemeda Mae Craven. I would like to correspond with anyone researching the same line. lyndakf@yahoo.com Thanks
