Looking for Gaines marrigae information

I am looking for information on a marriage. It was supposedly on May 16, 1956 in Virginia City, NV. My father-in-law and my mother-in-law went there to get married. After they have both died, I find out that my father-in-law was still married to someone else until jan of 1960. Now I question everything. I do have a picture with the date in the margin Oct 1956 of them standing under a street sign that says justice of the peace with the couple that stood up with them. If someone could posssibly help me find thier marriage license I would be forever grateful. It was John Alvin Gaines and he married Lillian Janet DeGroot on May 16, 1956 in Virginia City NV.
