I have a picture of an older lady, probably taken in Virginia City, labeled on the back "Grandma Whitcomb." My Batchelder family lived in Gold Hill 1874-1898 and as far as I know there is no connection with a Whitcomb family but I don't know why the family would have a picture of this lady. Could she be Minerva Whitcomb (1880 census living with son Ellwood)? An Alice Whitcomb (possibly a daughter?) married Charles Batchelder. I don't know if this Charles is related to my 4th-great, Joseph K. Batchelder. Any suggestions? Does anybody know anything about Minerva Whitcomb or Charles Batchelder?
