Classification: Query
Surnames: DAVIS, BOARDMAN
I am doing research on my Davis family genealogy, which has roots in New Hampshire. The following summarizes the information I have:
Grand father: Alfred Leslie Davis, born 18 Dec 1863, Gilford, Belknap, NH.
G-grand father: Melvin Davis, born 27 May 1838, Lake Village or Gilford, Belknap, NH. married Annette Boardman, 6 Dec 1862, Gilford, Belknap, NH, born 31 Jan 1844, NH.
Gg-grand father: Nathaniel Davis, born abt. 1798, NH.
married Nancy Swain, 20 Nov 1823, Gilford, Belknap, NH, born abt. 1802, NH.
All of the above information is from IGI records, researched by other people, and/or from my grand mother's family bible.
Nathaniel and his family appear in the 1850 census for Gilford, NH. They appear in the 1860 census for Gilford(Lake Village), NH. under a head-of-household Clarisa Libby.
Melvin and family left NH, between 1863 and 1870 and moved to Sangamon County, IL.
Nathaniel and Nancy appear in the 1870 census for Gilford(Lake Village), NH. under a head-of-household Francis Davis, whom I surmise is a nephew.
I have been unable to trace this Davis line back any further. I would like information about Nathaniel, place of birth and death, parents names, etc.
