BMD's 1887-1904 Laconia, NH BEAN, BOARDMAN, DAVIS & SWAIN

Using the data I have- BMD's 1887-1904 registered in Laconia, NH-, I researched the surnames, BEAN, BOARDMAN, DAVIS, & SWAIN. I have 39 pages of notes. I am in the process of condensing the data, then will post. I am unsure, at this time, if they are in my lines or not. But I am sure the info can help someone.

sir: I was foreman of the tool and die division of Arwood corp from 1950 till sept 1969 (both in tilton, nh. and rockleigh nj,i knew MOST of the people at tilton, but do not recall a j. weeks. sorry i couldn't be of help.

The only Samuel Seymore King record that I could find is his WW1 draft registration in Merrimac NH. It shows his birth as 19oct1879. Merrimack would be Hillsboro County

The Boston Public Library has put papers on the internet - 1800's-1924 - it's great - Boston Globe, Boston Herald, New York Times and others, so if you ever need anything looked up I'ld be glad to look for you!

I was just trying to find out when the Scott and Williams Knitting Manufacturers went out of business and who was the owner after 1924. My great aunt was involved with one of the owners, Scott, in fact he adopted her son. When Scott died he left his estate to my great aunt. When she died her wealth went to her son, Robert Scott and I was wondering about him. Did he get involved with the company? Can't find out anything about him. Thought of looking in papers.

Thanks for your help. My brother's mother in law was born out of wedlock to Thomas while he was still married to someone else. His daughter Kathy lives in Wisconsin and likely has step siblings from Thomas in NH. A Lori A Gibbons is likely one of Thomas' daughter and she has a family tree posted on Ancestry.com. I emailed Lori a few days ago but no response.

If Lori does not reply. I will try to obtain Thomas' obit from 1978 and have his daughter write letters to his survivors. Always a tense and touchy situation but I have done this twice before with success. The key is not to push too hard.

Thanks for trying to help. Unfortunately, I had already seen this and Runnel's History of Sanbornton. The confusion arises in that there appear to be very vague and conflicting elements in both versions of Cephas Smith's family which we are trying to resolve. We suspect that what your reference refers to as the "Smith family record" is closer to the truth although not without error.

I am particularly interested in the children of his second marriage to Sally (or Sarah)Calley (nee Morrison). Some of the children may have been born in Moultonborough and others in Sanbornton.

Thomas H. McInnis does not show up either in the 1930 census.
Only the 1910-1920 at the age 2 and 11

Tell me more of the marriage, the kids. their dates of births... locations..
anything else you know of thomas h. mcinnis and who you are trying to find of his.

For some reason, Michael does not come up in the 1930 census.

the only other record so far is his WW2 enlistment record.

it shows he was born 1911 in Aroostook, Maine
he enlisted on 10/28/1942 in Bangor Maine
it does say he was DIVORCED with dependents.

What is the child's name or children of Michaels?
What else do you know?
need to know the other members of his children.

Stefan, I went to NH Vital Records Dept. today & here's what I found on your family;
Marriage record; John Alm & Helena Norrin, married Feb. 25, 1900 in Cambridge, Massachusetts. His parents were Otto Alm & Clara Borjeson, her father was John Norrin, no info on her mother.
Birth Record; female, living, b. Nov. 18, 1900 in Pittsfield, NH, 1st child, father; John W. Alm, mother; Annie H. Nolin? This must be Clara.
Marriage Record; Charles Tuttle & Anna H. Alm, grooms 1st marriage, brides 2nd. Bride was divorced. They were married Dec. 25, 1906 in Nottingham, NH. His parents were George Tuttle & Isabella Davis. Her parents were Jons Noren & Briggetta Kamppe.
Marriage Record; George S. Tuttle & Lillian G. Buzzell, married July 15, 1932 in Barnstead, NH. His parents, Charles Tuttle & Anna H. Norin. Her parents, Charles E. Buzzell & Maybelle M. Gray.
Death Record; Anna H. Tuttle, died April 28, 1954 in Wolfeboro, NH. Date of birth, July 31, 1875, birthplace, Soderhamn, Sweden, fathers name, John Norin, mothers, Brekhen Kappa. She was buried May 1, 1854 in Riverview Cemetery, Barnstead, NH. Hope this helps !

I was just digging around at the Belknap County deeds to try to find out about company - would you happen to know when it went out of business? I thought the deeds would tell me who owned it, hopefully the son, and then I could somehow track him down.

Did you work in NH or NY? I do know that Robert Scott Sr has patents for some of the machines.

Do you know if my aunt's son, Robert, who got adopted by the original owner, was ever involved in the company? I'm trying to find out what happened to him.

Looking for any information about this company.

My great aunt ended up living with Robert Scott in New York and he adopted her son, Robert. When this Robert Scott died she inherited a good portion of his wealth. She dies in 1935 and I can't find out anything about her son. I assumed he might have been involved with the Company somehow. I do know that the company is now an apartment complex/retail space.

Any information would be appreciated!

I recently found a Will for your John Hammond of Botetourt, VA. It was recorded, for some reason, in Marion County, IL on Mar 2, 1881. Since he was from VA, I am wondering who would have had an interest in recording the Will in Marion Co, IL. I am interested because my Hammond line is in Marion Co., IL during the same time frame...in fact my great grandfather Thomas E. Hammond died in Jan of 1881 and so I am wondering if they are related.

I'm trying to find the marriage record for Alphonse Sevigny (B:18 Dec 1892) from Canada to Dianna (Diane) Ouimet (B:04 Mar 1895) from Canada. on or about September 14, 1914.
They lived in the Laconia area before moving to Lowell, MA.

Margaret, the current issues of the papers are online. The Laconia Citizen and the Laconia Sun. However, forty years ago we didn't have computers or an internet. All those papers are on microfilm, by date, at the library of that city as well as the state library. If there is an article on a particular date that you would like, I would gladly look it up for you. David

Scott & Williams manufactured circular knitting machines, from small stocking machines to large rug machines. Offices and assembly was at the Union Ave (busy corner)Laconia, now apartments. Part manufacturing was done at the Lakeport buildings 25, 40 & 70. I believe the buildings were numbered by the year they were built. Building 25 and 40 have been torn down. 70 is now an exposition center. Marketing was done from their offices on a floor of the Empire State Building in NYC. I used to work for them, back in the 60s.
