Jessica, would love converse with you more about this subject.
Horace Fabyan (b. 1807) ran a hotel in the vicinity of Fabyan, NH at the western base of Mt. Washington, burning in Apr 1853. When others took over (1874), they named the place Fabyan House in his honor. His wife Mirianm D. Eaton died in Lancaster in 1858.
Horace had seven children: the second child, Horace G. b. 1837 in Conway NH; the third child Barnard D. b. 1839 in Lancaster so they were there by then; the fourth child, Abbott L. b. 1842 in ?, NH was a hotel clerk in Boston in 1870 and purchased a hotel in Bradford VT in 1879 (it burned April 1887); the fifth, sixth and seventh children were born Lancaster NH with the last about 1854.
So did he run the Lancaster hotel you are asking about; did he run two hotels? His 3rd, maybe 4th, and 5th - 7th children were born in Lancaster NH. I have census records showing Horace in Boston in 1860 and in Bradford, helping his son, in 1870 and he died in 1881 in Bradford.
What information do you have on the Lancaster hotel and Horace(?) Fabyan?
Out of curiosity, where do you live? I am in Akron OH. My email address is
