Do you have access to ancestry.com? There is now a public member tree called Evans/Evens of Hinsdale. If you cannot access this I will figure out another way.
Your Peter's mother Mercy Allen was a descendant of Captain George Lamberton of the "Phantom Ship of New Haven." (Something fascinating to google if you had not seen it). I am a descendant of Peter's brother John, who married Lydia Doolittle.
I have seen Asher's name written as Ashur in some records. I don't have much more on Asher, tho I did find mention of him in a few histories. I am happy to share whatever interests you. Thank you for the birth dates of Peter & Ruth's children!
